4th of July Rice Krispie Treats are classic marshmallow cereal bars decorated with red, white, and blue colors for a fun and festive holiday treat.

Ingredients
  

  • tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 oz mini marshmallows
  • 3 cups puffed rice cereal
  • Red candy melts small handful
  • Blue candy melts small handful
  • White chocolate roughly chopped (small handful)
  • Red white, and blue sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows, stirring until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Combine cereal: Stir in puffed rice until every grain is coated.
  4. Press into pan: Firmly press mixture into a lined pan (or work surface if hands-on).
  5. Sprinkle topping while still warm—press lightly so they stick.
  6. Cool completely, then cut out stars with a cookie cutter.
  7. Melt candy colors and chocolate separately. Drizzle red, white, and blue over stars for a patriotic pattern.

Notes

  • Ideal for toddlers and kids, but watch young ones with sprinkles or sharp edges from cutters.
