Air Fryer Whole Chicken is a juicy, tender main course with crispy golden skin. Cooked evenly in the air fryer, it’s a simple and flavorful way to prepare a family-friendly dinner.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small whole chicken 3–4 pounds
  • 2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Method
 

  1. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Rinse chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix rosemary, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and avocado oil.
  4. Rub mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin.
  5. Place chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket.
  6. Cook for 30–35 minutes, then flip breast side up.
  7. Continue cooking for 30–40 minutes, or until the thigh reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove chicken and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Cooking time may vary depending on the size of your chicken and the air fryer model.
  • For toddlers, serve plain shredded meat with minimal seasoning.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for 4 days and can be reheated in the air fryer.
  • Adding lemon wedges or fresh herbs inside the cavity gives extra flavor.
