Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.

- Cut puff pastry into equal rectangles.
- Arrange pastry pieces on the baking sheet.

- Pipe or spoon a generous layer of cream cheese mixture into the center of each piece.

- In a small bowl, whisk egg and water together to make egg wash.
- Brush egg wash along pastry edges.
- Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly before serving.

Notes
